The Live Oac ODYSSEY
The Live Oac boating experience is the best in the Lowcountry. Our flagship vessel, the Live Oac Odyssey, is the most comfortable and best equipped cruising boat in the Hilton Head Island area.
For your comfort, and the most personalized guided experience, we always limit the Odyssey to 6 passengers, although it is certified for 10.
What makes the Odyssey special?
• Hurricane deck boats are regarded as the best built, best equipped, and most comfortable deck boats available. Known as the "SUV of Deck Boats", they are built for comfortable journeys in a variety of conditions.
• Full windshield protects the entire stern passenger area (unlike the captain-only wind deflectors on most "comparable" commercial craft, notably the Hurricane FunDeck line, Cobia deck boats, and Starcraft deck boats.). If you want the driest ride possible, go with the Odyssey. Should we get surprised by a typical summer afternoon shower as is common in the lowcountry, we'll close up the windshield, cover the walk through, and you're much more comfortable than you would be in most other boats.
• On board head (that's boater-talk for "restroom") for your convenience on longer excursions.
Compare the Live Oac Odyssey to any other commercial cruising boat in the lowcountry and we have no doubt you'll see the difference:
Live Oac Odyssey:
• 2007 Hurricane SunDeck line deck boat. (Top of the line "SUV of Deck Boats." We rotate our equipment to maintain like-new condition and quality.)
• Super Quiet 4-stroke Yamaha F150 motor with a three-star emissions rating by CARB.
• Sun-shade (bimini top covers rear passenger area, not just the captain!)
• Highest quality cushioned seating.
• Onboard head (marine toilet) for your convenience.
• Full Windshield for drier ride (open/close option) means increased protection from splashing or surprise summer showers for rear passenger area.
• No "Fuel Surcharges" (plus, our Yamaha 4-stroke is extremely fuel efficient).
The "Competition":
• Either Hurricane FunDeck (basic model line), Starcraft, or Cobia Coastal Deck, Carolina Skiff, or inflatable Zodiac-type vessels, typically several years old.*
• Some 4-stroke, many 2-stroke motors (very noisy, even at idle speed).
• Sun-shade on most deck boats, but usually not inflatables or skiffs.
• Typically less comfortable cushions, if any.
• Only some have a head, which may or may not be operational.
• Captain-only windshield, if any.
• Beware of unadvertised "Fuel Surcharges" and price "adjustments" that far exceed the typical fuel cost of a cruise.
