Grand Tour of Islands™ Eco Tour with Live Oac

Grand Tour of Islands Eco Tour

A broad exploration of waterways and islands between Hilton Head and the mainland. This 3 hour sightseeing experience (including a break on land) covers more than twice the area of our top-rated 2hr Dolphin Wildlife Tour. While it’s a brisk pace on the water, it’s the slow pace and charm of the Lowcountry that’s the real focus. We’ll see dolphins and other wildlife along the way. Our path varies with tides, but might include:
Historic island across Calibogue Sound from Hilton Head.
Private island on the May River across from Myrtle Island and Alljoy Beach.
Hunting preserve along the marsh fringe of the May River.
A secluded hub for the “Gentlemen Smugglers”.
The May River splits the mainland between Palmetto Bluff and historic Bluffton. It’s purely a tidal saltwater river with current that moves in either direction depending on the ebb and flow of the tide.
An area studied by Jean-Michel Cousteau for its dolphin inhabitants known for a peculiar feeding behavior.
A modern developed “village” that looks 200 years old, built on the site of historic mansion ruins.
Daufuskie Island’s northern lighthouse, visible from the mouth of the Cooper River.
